Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea secured a convincing 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, propelling them to second place in the Premier League table.

The decisive moment came eight minutes before halftime when Pedro Neto headed in Jamie Gittens’ perfect cross, sending the Blues into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea dominated the game, creating several chances but failing to double their advantage before the break.

The second half saw the Blues continue to control the tempo, with Burnley struggling to mount a serious challenge.

It wasn’t until the 88th minute that Enzo Fernandez sealed the win, converting a pass from substitute Marc Guiu.

The victory marks Chelsea’s third straight league win without conceding, with Maresca praising his team’s performance despite acknowledging areas for improvement.

“It was a tough game for many reasons… but the way the players competed, another clean sheet, we’re happy,” Maresca said.

Chelsea’s next challenge is Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, followed by a Premier League showdown with leaders Arsenal on Sunday.

Burnley, meanwhile, remains 17th, suffering their third consecutive defeat.

Burnley boss Scott Parker expressed disappointment but praised his team’s first-half display, saying, “My overall feeling is very, very pleased with the performance”.
