Per Second News has strengthened its editorial team with the appointment of three experienced professionals to lead its digital content, health and entertainment coverage.
The publication announced Joycelyn Ellakeche Adah as Digital Content Editor and Producer, Dr. Emily Howswirthz as Health and Wellness Editor, and Oluwasegun Adebayo as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor.
The appointments form part of the organisation’s strategy to strengthen its editorial operations, expand multimedia production and deepen coverage across critical sectors.
Adah, an accomplished broadcast journalist and producer, brings more than two decades of experience across television, radio and digital media. She has worked with several prominent media organisations, including African Independent Television, Aso Television and Radio, Advocate Broadcasting Network and BenTV Europe.
She also produced and presented NNPCL Energy Today, a specialised energy programme broadcast on Channels Television.
A specialist in energy and environmental journalism, Adah currently serves as the producer of The Exchange, Per Second News’ flagship podcast. She oversees the programme’s content development, editorial planning and production.
The publication said her experience in public affairs and impactful storytelling would be central to advancing its digital and multimedia strategy.
Dr. Howswirthz, a physician, humanitarian advocate and healthcare leader, brings more than 20 years of experience in the medical profession.
She has worked in some of Hamburg’s leading hospitals in Germany, building extensive experience in patient care, clinical leadership and healthcare-system development.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Howswirthz has participated in health outreach initiatives, wellness advocacy programmes and charitable interventions, particularly in East Africa. Her humanitarian work has focused on expanding healthcare access and supporting vulnerable communities.
As Health and Wellness Editor, she will lead the publication’s coverage of public health, preventive care, medical developments and healthy living, with an emphasis on accessible and expert-driven reporting.
Adebayo’s appointment as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor took effect on August 8. Based in Lagos, he will oversee entertainment, lifestyle, celebrity and premium social coverage.
He brings nearly 16 years of journalism and media experience to the position. Before joining Per Second News, Adebayo served as an Assistant Editor at the Nigerian Tribune, where he developed a reputation for editorial leadership, extensive industry connections and reporting on Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
He will be responsible for developing exclusive and engaging content aimed at expanding Per Second News’ reach across digital and traditional multimedia platforms.
The publication said the appointments underscore its commitment to quality journalism, innovative content creation, public education and stronger audience engagement.
