Days after launching an attack in Zamfara State on Thursday, bandits hit Kebbi State on Sunday, kidnapping Kebbi State High Court judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza.
He was taken from his residence along Zogirma Road in the Bunza Local Government Area, shortly after returning from a trip to Sokoto.
Persecondnews reported on Saturday that bandits had launched similar attack at the residence of a local government chairman in Zamfara state before whisking him and his family away.
The family members were swiftly rescued by the military but the chairman and his wife are still in the den of their captors.
“He had just returned from Sokoto when the gunmen stormed his residence and took him away,” a source said.
According to a source, the assailants discharged firearms sporadically during the operation before fleeing with the victim; no other occupants were harmed.
SP Bashir Usman, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Command, has officially confirmed the incident.
