The Federal Government has confirmed that 63 out of the 69 ambassadors appointed by President Bola Tinubu have received agrément from their respective host countries, clearing the way for their deployment.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, noting that several of the envoys have already departed Nigeria to assume duty in their host countries.
The Ministry said the presentation of Letters of Credence was recently carried out by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, to ambassadors and high commissioners designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Egypt on Monday, June 22, 2026.
It explained that the presentation followed confirmation of agrément from the respective countries, confirming their acceptance as Nigeria’s principal diplomatic representatives.
It added that the remaining countries are expected to soon convey their acceptance to complete the deployment process, in order to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and global representation.
Persecondnews recalls that President Tinubu had submitted ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation in three phases in late 2025, after which he approved their official postings.
