With vote collation underway across Ekiti State, INEC has successfully transmitted 85.32% of Saturday’s governorship election results to its IReV portal.
Portal data shows that by 7:12 p.m., 2,086 of the state’s 2,445 polling units—spanning all 16 local government areas—had successfully uploaded their tallies.
This steady stream of data is a major win for electoral transparency, offering the public, observers, and political parties real-time, verified insights into the election’s progress.
A breakdown of the uploads indicated substantial progress in most local government areas.
Ado-Ekiti, the state’s largest local government area by polling unit volume, spearheaded the digital count with 318 of its 344 results successfully uploaded to the portal.
Close behind in terms of efficiency was Ekiti South West, which nearly completed its transmission by filing 184 of its 188 units.
Steady progress was similarly noted in Oye (175/191), Ekiti West (168/184), Irepodun/Ifelodun (136/174), Ido/Osi (134/144), and Ikere (114/125).
Smaller council areas kept pace with high upload ratios.
Efon successfully transmitted 110 of its 119 results, while Gbonyin and Ise/Orun both crossed the century mark with 104 uploads each.
Rounding out the state’s progress, Moba logged 98 uploads, Ilejemeje hit 85, and Emure posted 78.
In Ikole Local Government Area, 150 of the expected 189 polling unit results had been uploaded, while Ijero recorded 117 uploads from 145 polling units.
Ekiti East appeared to be the least advanced in terms of result transmission, with only 42 results uploaded from its 112 polling units as of the latest update.
This steady influx of data is expected to boost transparency and public trust in the election, giving stakeholders a way to independently track local outcomes ahead of INEC’s official declaration.
The commission had previously reassured voters and political parties of its dedication to a credible, technology-driven election, positioning the IReV portal as a cornerstone of its results management.
