In a season defined by brilliance and trophies, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has been named LaLiga Player of the Season, recognising his starring role in the club’s domestic championship success at just 18 years old.
Barcelona announced the award on Friday, hailing it as further proof of the young star’s exceptional ability.
The La Masia graduate delivered a standout campaign under coach Hansi Flick, scoring 16 league goals and providing 11 assists to help secure the Spanish top-flight title.
“Another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal,” the club said in a statement. It added: “The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists.”
LaLiga presented the honour after a campaign in which Yamal emerged as one of the competition’s most influential players, helping Barcelona retain domestic supremacy.
He posted his highest goal tally in a league season to date and finished as joint winner of the Zarra Trophy alongside teammate Ferran Torres.
Yamal’s displays also enabled Barcelona to sweep several major individual honours, with Flick named Coach of the Season and goalkeeper Joan Garcia claiming the Save of the Season prize.
The accolade makes him the second consecutive Barcelona player to win the award after Raphinha last season.
