Nigerian music icon Davido has broken his silence on the state of the nation, declaring, “I’ve fallen out of any agenda that suppresses people.”

In an unusually raw and emotional social media outburst, the singer expressed deep frustration over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and the climate of fear gripping the country.

Known primarily for promoting his music and philanthropic efforts, the Afrobeats star shifted gears to fiercely criticize the ongoing bloodshed and kidnappings.

Davido lamented that ordinary Nigerians have endured far too much pain, emphasizing that staying silent is no longer an option while citizens struggle daily for survival and certainty.

“I have fallen out of any agenda that keeps people suppressed. I don’t care what happens to me at this point. People are dying, families are living in fear and we are acting like everything is normal,” he wrote.

Others, however, argued that celebrities must move beyond social media outrage and begin to consistently use their influence to demand accountability and better governance from political leaders.

In recent months, insecurity across parts of Nigeria has continued to generate nationwide concern, with reports of kidnappings, killings and violent attacks leaving many communities devastated and citizens increasingly anxious about their safety.

Davido’s statement adds to the growing list of entertainers and celebrities who have openly expressed concern over the direction of the country and the emotional toll the insecurity crisis is having on Nigerians at home and abroad.
