President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will ultimately defeat terrorists and bandits across the country, despite continued attacks in some communities.
In a State House statement marking the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, obtained by Persecondnews on Tuesday, the President acknowledged that insecurity persists in parts of the country even as security agencies step up operations against criminal groups.
Tinubu said significant gains have been recorded by the armed forces, including the elimination of a wanted ISIS leader.
“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies. including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities.
” I assure you, you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, stressing that ongoing reforms were beginning to stabilise the economy for growth.
“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal. The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations.”
He added that the sacrifices made under his administration were already yielding positive economic results.
“Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he added.
The President also called on Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir period to pray for peace, national unity, and wisdom for leaders, while encouraging acts of charity and compassion.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building a Nigeria where citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their aspirations without fear.
Tinubu wished Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts their sacrifices and continues to bless the nation.
Persecondnews reported that the Federal Government had on Monday, declared Tuesday, May 27, and Wednesday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the country.
