Actress and filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola has dismissed any suggestion of emotional attachment while playing romantic roles with fellow actor Daniel Etim-Effiong, insisting that their relationship on-set remains strictly professional.

Speaking during an appearance on the Jay On-Air podcast monitored by Persecondnews, Ogunmola praised Etim-Effiong for his discipline and professionalism, especially while handling intimate and emotional scenes in romantic films.

The actress explained that despite the chemistry audiences often see on screen, both actors maintain clear boundaries while working together, adding that her focus is always on the fictional character and not the individual behind it.

“Major shout out to Daniel, he’s a very disciplined person. Personally, when it comes to work, I have very strict boundaries and anybody that knows me understands that,” she said.

Clarifying how she approaches romantic scenes, Ogunmola stated that she separates reality from acting in order to deliver convincing performances to viewers.

“When going on a romantic film, it’s not Daniel that I’m working with, it is the character enthralling that we are working together.

“I need to make it believable for the audience and I don’t want to waste my audience’s time or money. I want them to fully believe what I am doing,” she added.

The filmmaker emphasized that her primary goal as an actress is to keep audiences emotionally invested in every narrative she brings to life.

She further noted that maintaining a high level of professionalism is the essential foundation for delivering truly authentic performances.
