Less than a day after making public the first set of 2026 UTME results, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged a setback in releasing scores for candidates who sat for the examination on Friday, April 17.

Spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin, took to his X page to address the situation, attributing the delay to the absence of the board’s chief executive, who was engaged in an official assignment.

“We sincerely apologise for the delay in releasing the results for Friday, 17th April, which is the second batch in the series as earlier promised,” he wrote.

He, however, assured that the situation had been resolved and that the pending results would be made available before the end of the day (.

JAMB also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused, particularly to candidates who had anticipated the release earlier, and appealed for continued patience

The delay follows the earlier publication of over 600,000 results from candidates who wrote the exam on Thursday, marking the first phase of the 2026 UTME result rollout.

Candidates awaiting their scores have been directed to check via SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
