Public affairs analyst, Mahmud Jega has alleged that the internal turmoil currently fracturing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is being deliberately “engineered.”
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time this Friday, Jega urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to exercise extreme caution in its handling of the situation.
Persecondnews reports that the party is currently reeling from a leadership dispute that saw former Senate President David Mark stripped of his role as national chairman and ex-Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
Jega said: “The crisis in the ADC is being engineered. And INEC has to be very careful.
“The impression INEC is giving is that it is part of the scheme to destroy all opposition parties.
“The opposition wanted the ADA; INEC sat on it for 2 years. Now they have moved to ADC, and they are coming up with something else.”
