Breaking: Firefighters Battle Blaze at Lagos Airport Old Terminal

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire incident at the old international terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
According to Henry Agbebire, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, emergency teams were immediately deployed to the scene and have successfully brought the situation under control.
FAAN’s emergency response unit acted swiftly to contain the blaze and mitigate property damage.
Agbebire assured the public that no casualties were recorded during the incident and emphasized that the agency is working to ensure the safety of all airport users.
“We are aware of the outbreak, and we are there right now. We will publish a statement right now. Our firefighting team is currently responding and working to curtail the situation.
“No loss of lives has been recorded. Further updates will be recorded,” he said.
FAAN has urged passengers and airport stakeholders to remain calm while emergency teams complete the damping-down process and conduct a comprehensive assessment of the structural damage.
