Nollywood comic actor, Sanusi Izihaq, popularly known as Apankufor, has stirred reactions on social media after unveiling two newly acquired automobiles, describing the purchases as “financial mistakes” that would nonetheless make his late father proud.

The energetic entertainer, known for his humorous takes both on and off screen, showed off the sleek Honda and a luxury Mercedes Benz in a celebratory post that blended gratitude, humour and heartfelt reflection.

Rather than simply bask in the moment, Apankufor chose to lace the announcement with his signature wit, admitting that splashing millions of naira on the exotic rides might not pass as the most prudent financial decision.

“Some people will call this a financial mistake,” he wrote. “And honestly, maybe they are right. But these are the kind of mistakes I am willing to make at this point in my life.”

The actor, however, quickly turned the narrative into an emotional tribute to his late father, suggesting that the milestone meant more than material display.

“My father would be proud of me,” he said. “When he looks down from heaven and sees his son, that small boy who once had nothing, now standing strong and buying his dream cars, I know he will smile.”

Apankufor hinted that the journey to this moment had not been smooth, noting that years of hard work in the entertainment industry had culminated in the reward he now enjoys.

“This is not just about cars,” he added. “It’s about growth, sleepless nights, rejection, and still pushing through. If this is a mistake, then it is one that came from hustle.”
