For many celebrities, the beginning of the year is a time to brace up, reconnect with fans and tease new projects lined up for the months ahead.

But for Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime, the New Year comes with a different decision, and involves stepping away from social media to focus on herself.

As 2026 begins, Isime announced that she is taking a break from social media, choosing peace and personal happiness over the usual online buzz.

The actress made this known via her Instagram page while wishing her millions of followers a Happy New Year from Mauritius, where she ushered in the year.

In an emotional and upbeat message, Nancy expressed optimism about the year ahead, describing 2026 as “the year of our dreams,” while also revealing her intention to log off social media until further notice — a move she described as something she does “as usual.”

“Aii, time to log off social media till further notice,” she wrote. “Let me focus on my happiness and peace. See ya when I see y’all. I love youuu.”

Beyond the announcement of her break, the actress also reflected on her journey in the film industry, opening up about growth, resilience and the hurdles she has faced as a woman building a career in Nollywood.

She credited her progress to determination, discipline and an unwavering commitment to hard work.

Nancy further shared that her drive to succeed has always been rooted in self-reliance.

According to her, working hard to provide for herself gives her confidence and freedom, ensuring that her stability is never dependent on anyone else or threatened by someone walking away from her life.

The actress’ decision to step back from social media aligns with a growing trend among celebrities who periodically disconnect to protect their mental health and regain clarity away from public scrutiny.

While fans may miss her regular online presence, many have applauded the move, flooding her page with messages of support and well wishes, as she begins the year prioritising peace, balance and personal fulfillment.
