Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the newly established Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), has unveiled the agency’s logo and brand identity, marking a significant shift toward a more unified and efficient tax system.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja, Adedeji stated that the rebranding reflects a commitment to global best practices and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s economic transformation agenda.

The NRS officially replaces the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) following the signing of the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025 in June.

In a statement released by his media aide, Dare Adekanmbi, Adedeji emphasized that the new identity signals a “forward-looking approach” designed to strengthen institutional capacity and better support taxpayers in driving national development.

“The Nigeria Revenue Service remains committed to transparency, partnership, and service excellence,” he said.

“The unveiling of this new identity represents not an end, but the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public — built on trust, clarity, and shared prosperity.”

As the successor to the now-defunct Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) was established to harmonize and streamline revenue collection nationwide.

Beyond traditional duties, the NRS is now the sole authority responsible for Value Added Tax (VAT), corporate income tax, and petroleum taxes.

It has also taken over the collection of various levies previously managed by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
