World-renowned British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred along a busy stretch of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway near Danco Filling Station. Joshua was travelling in a Lexus SUV, registration number KRD 850 HN, which reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are still being investigated.

Emergency responders confirmed that Joshua sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken for further medical evaluation. Tragically, two other occupants involved in the crash were confirmed dead at the scene.

The accident caused significant traffic disruption as rescue teams, security personnel, and bystanders converged on the area. Authorities temporarily cordoned off the scene to allow for rescue operations and preliminary investigations.

Messages of concern and relief quickly flooded social media, with fans and well-wishers expressing gratitude over Joshua’s survival.

Traffic officials have urged motorists to exercise caution while plying the expressway, noting that investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Authorities also appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information as official details continue to emerge.

Joshua, who frequently visits Nigeria for personal and professional engagements, is said to be in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
