After forty-five years of hard work in Brooklyn, New York, 72-year-old Alhaji Mutiu Agbosasa’s dream of a peaceful retirement was cut tragically short.

The chartered accountant had returned to his native Nigeria alongside his wife, hoping to enjoy his golden years in Ikorodu, Lagos, only to meet a devastating end.

Azuka Jebose who wrote on Facebook: “He built his dream home in Ikorodu, a testament to his hard work and dedication.

“However, his peaceful retirement was short-lived. Armed robbers attacked him in his home, fatally shooting him.”

He said Agbosasa’s wife was in church when the incident occurred, and the gateman had to inform her not to return home as a result of the mishap.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Police said the security guard has been arrested for questioning.

Agbosasa’s story is a poignant reminder of the risks faced by retirees seeking a peaceful life in their homeland.
