Breaking: Speaker, 16 Rivers lawmakers defect from PDP to APC

Sixteen lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly including the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, have defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amaewhule announced the decision during the plenary session on Friday, December 5 in Port Harcourt.

He cited a “clear division” within the PDP as the reason for their defection.
