The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to drive growth within the maritime sector.

MWUN’s President-General Francis Bunu Abi led a delegation to meet with NPA Managing Director Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho and his executive team at the Marina Headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday.

Abi stressed the necessity of collaboration, stating that both organizations are “partners in progress” and cannot operate in isolation.

He also used the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Dantsoho on Nigeria’s recent success in securing the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Category ‘C’ seat, acknowledging the achievement as a credit to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola.

Dantsoho expressed gratitude to the MWUN leadership for their support and assured them of the NPA’s commitment to working together to make Nigeria’s maritime industry a hub of activities locally and globally.

The meeting is seen as a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and synergy between the union and the NPA.
