Amid escalating security concerns in the country, former Chief of Defence Staff, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday evening.

The meeting, which took place at 7:03 pm, marks Musa’s first public encounter with the President since his retirement on October 24, 2025.

The purpose of the meeting has not been officially disclosed, but it is believed to be focused on addressing the country’s security challenges, particularly in the North, where recent abductions and attacks have sparked widespread concern.

These include the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi, the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara, and the abduction of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.

The meeting comes as security agencies intensify counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across the North-West and North-Central regions.
