FC Barcelona is set to make its long-awaited return to the iconic Spotify Camp Nou this Saturday, hosting Athletic Club in a La Liga match after over two years of renovations.
The Blaugrana have been playing their home games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, but the wait is finally over, with the revamped stadium ready to welcome fans back.
The matchup against Athletic Club marks a historic moment for the club, serving as the official debut of the modernized Camp Nou.
With a temporarily reduced capacity of 45,401, the stadium is expected to be sold out, offering fans a chance to experience the new-look venue.
FC Barcelona announced the return, stating, “The match corresponding to matchday 13 of the League, against Athletic Club, scheduled for Saturday, November 22 at 16:15, will finally be played at Spotify Camp Nou”.
The renovation, part of the Espai Barça project, has been ongoing since 2023, with completion expected by 2027.
Despite delays, including a push back from the initial August return, the club is optimistic about the progress.
An open training session earlier this month drew 23,000 fans, giving a glimpse of the stadium’s new look and feel.
While the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt is still pending confirmation, the club is working with UEFA to host the game at Camp Nou.
As the team prepares for its homecoming, fans are buzzing with excitement, eager to see the revamped stadium and cheer on their team.
