The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) wielded the big stick on Saturday, expelling high-profile members in a move aimed at cleansing the party and removing those “working against its interest.”

Notable expulsions include former Rivers State Governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose.

Others expelled were former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Austin Nwachukwu, and A. Bature.

Chief Olabode George, former Deputy National Chairman and party leader in Lagos State, formally moved the motion for their removal.

The Atona Oodua of Yorubaland moved the motion at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan venue of the party’s 2025 National Convention.

There was wild jubilation among members present at the venue from all over the country when the motion was moved.

The expulsions were ratified immediately.
