President Bola Tinubu has formally asked the Senate to confirm Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN) for appointment as a minister.

The request is contained in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read aloud during Tuesday’s plenary session.

President Tinubu described Dr. Udeh, who currently serves as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, as a nominee of “proven integrity and competence.”

In the letter, Tinubu wrote: “I am pleased to forward to the Senate the nomination of Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), for confirmation as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“While I trust that this request will receive the Senate’s usual expeditious consideration, please accept, Mr Senate President and distinguished senators, the assurances of my highest regards.”

Following the reading of the letter, Senate President Akpabio referred the request to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration.

Persecondnews recalls that Mr. Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, who recently forged certificates and was sacked is from Enugu State.

He resigned on October 8, 2025, after allegations of certificate forgery surfaced, including claims that he presented fake academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates to the Presidency and the Senate.
