Breaking: Tinted Permit: Court Orders Police to Maintain Status Quo

1.2k

A Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo regarding the enforcement of the new tinted permit policy.

This decision follows a suit filed by a lawyer, Mr. John Aikpokpo-Martins, who is challenging the legality of the policy.

Persecondnews recalls that police officers enforcing the tinted permit policy had on Thursday impounded the official vehicle belonging to Justice O. A. Ogunbowale of the National Industrial Court in Asaba, Delta State.

The move sparked outrage within the legal community, with many describing it as an “avoidable humiliation” for the judiciary.
