Women Affairs Minister Grieves Over Death of Arise TV Journalist in Abuja Robbery Attack

The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a 29-year-old Arise TV journalist who was killed during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday, September 29.

In a brief condolence message, the minister described the incident as a painful and unacceptable loss to the media industry and the nation.

She urged security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice while commiserating with Maduagwu’s family, colleagues, and the Arise TV team.

She noted that Nigeria had lost a young woman of courage, talent, and promise, adding that the Ministry of Women Affairs stood in solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.
