The Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Police Command says it has arrested five suspected kidnappers.
These individuals (names withheld) are believed to be responsible for orchestrating multiple kidnappings across the North Central, North West, and North East regions of Nigeria.
The suspects, who had been on the police’s wanted list for some time, were tracked to Nasarawa and subsequently apprehended.
Their arrest led to the recovery of 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, one locally-made pistol with two live cartridges, and five motorcycles used in their operations.



The command, in a statement issued on Monday, September 29, by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, and sent to Persecondnews, said the operation, which was led by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad, took place from Saturday, September 20, to Sunday, September 28.
It stated: “This operation, which was led by the Commander Scorpion Squad, took place on the September 20 through September 28 2025.
“The suspects are responsible for several kidnappings in the North Central, North West, and North East regions of the country, and have been on the wanted list of the Police and other security agencies. They were tracked to Nasarawa, where they were arrested.
“The suspects are: “Abdullahi Garuba a.k.a. Alhaji Ore, male, 40 years, Yusuf Inuwa a.k.a. Alhaji Dabunda, male, 59 years, David Kaika a.k.a. Baba, male, 29 years, Baba Imaji, female, 36 years, and Ibrahim Nasiru a.k.a. Pepper, male.
“Exhibits recovered from the suspects include: 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, Two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, One locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, and Five operational motorcycles used by the suspects.
“All suspects have confessed to their crimes and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations. Efforts are ongoing to track and arrest their other gang member currently on the run.
“While commending the bravery and gallantry of the officers, Police Commissioner Ajao Adewale reassured the public of his continued efforts to rid the FCT and its environs of crime and criminality.”
