Grace Adayilo, the first female and indigenous Head of Service for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has passed away.

Her death was confirmed by her Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Odey, who said she died in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, Persecondnews reports.

Appointed by President Bola Tinubu on October 6, 2024, Adayilo’s tenure was historic, as she broke both gender and geographical barriers within the FCT administration.

As HoS, Adayilo was expected to strengthen the FCT Administration’s bureaucratic structure, enhancing service delivery and governance.

Before her appointment as HoS, Adayilo served as Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat, bringing extensive administrative experience to her new role.

Adayilo’s appointment was seen as a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting women inclusivity and representation in government.
