Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has shared her thoughts on love, revealing that she’s still open to finding the right partner, despite experiencing repeated heartbreaks.

In a candid moment during a recent interview, the 44-year-old singer admitted she has never experienced true love except from her son.

“I think I have never experienced true love except from my son. I have never experienced that soul mate kind of thing. I have tried over and over again, maybe love isn’t for me in this lifetime,” she said.

Tiwa’s personal life has been a subject of speculation since her highly publicised split from ex-husband Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun in 2016.

In the years that followed, she deliberately shielded her relationships from public view, fueling curiosity among fans.

Despite her guarded approach, Tiwa has faced persistent rumours linking her to several high-profile men.

One of the most talked-about was her alleged romance with Wizkid in 2018, sparked by their intimate scenes in his “Fever” music video.

Neither confirmed nor denied the speculation, leaving fans to draw their own conclusions.

The singer has not shied away from hinting at her relationship ideals. Last year, she sent a playful message to her “future husband,” teasing that she is a mix of fun and mischief.

In 2022, she broke down in tears during a performance while speaking about her love life, confessing that she had been “served breakfast”, Nigerian slang for breakups .

While the heartbreaks have left their mark, Tiwa made it clear she hasn’t completely shut the door on romance.

Friends say she remains hopeful for a genuine connection, one built on trust and respect, even if her past experiences have made her more cautious.

Known for her sultry voice and bold stage presence, Tiwa’s vulnerability on the subject of love has struck a chord with fans, many of whom see her as proof that even the strongest women can long for companionship.

And though she admits she’s unsure if love will find her in this lifetime, she’s not closing her heart to the possibility.
