Bayern Munich has completed the signing of Colombian forward Luis Diaz from Premier League champions Liverpool for a reported fee that could rise to 75 million euros ($86.5 million).

The 28-year-old has signed a contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2029.

Diaz, who won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup during his time at Anfield, is expected to bring a new level of quality to Bayern’s attack.

According to Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen on Wednesday, Diaz is one of the best left wingers in the Premier League.

“In Luis Diaz, we have succeeded in bringing in one of the best left wingers in the Premier League,” Dreesen said.

“He brings real player character from Liverpool to FC Bayern — he’s won silverware with every one of his clubs to date.”

Diaz expressed his excitement about joining Bayern, saying, “It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern.

“They’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with my way of playing football and my character.”

Persecondnews reports that Diaz’s impressive stats in the Premier League include 569 touches in the opponent’s box, 459 duels won, 186 take-ons completed, 153 chances created, 83 shots on target, 29 goals, and 15 assists in 103 games.

He made 50 appearances and scored 17 goals in all competitions last season as Liverpool clinched the English title for the 20th time.

The signing of Diaz is a significant coup for Bayern, especially with Jamal Musiala ruled out for a “long period” after suffering a broken leg and dislocated ankle at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Diaz’s experience and quality will be invaluable to Bayern as they look to dominate the Bundesliga and make a strong run in European competitions.

“My goal is to win every possible title, and that’s what we’ll work for every day as a team,” Diaz said, highlighting his ambition and commitment to success at Bayern.
