Mr. Jude Ezenwafor, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election, missed death by a hairsbreadth on Friday night when gunmen opened fire on him in Wuse 2, Abuja.
Two other people who were with him during the attack were also shot, Persecondnews reports.
Speaking from his hospital bed on Saturday, Ezenwafor described the incident as a “near-death experience,” stating he was attacked by the gunmen while on his way home from an appointment.
Ezenwafor who was reportedly shot by yet-to-be apprehended gunmen, is currently recovering at a private hospital in Abuja with the doctors preparing to perform surgery to remove bullets from his body.
“I’m currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate on me to remove the bullets,” he said.
