Adeniran was found dead at his residence on Thursday morning, July 17, 2025, according to a statement by the university management signed by Mr. Isaac Oluyi, Head of Media and Protocol.

A source claims that the university official might have been assassinated but police said they are still unraveling the circumstances surrounding his death.

“He was found dead in his residence in Ondo town on Thursday morning. I believe the police will unravel the circumstances surrounding his death,” the source said.

SP Olayinka Ayanlade, the state police command’s spokesperson, disclosed that two men reportedly emerged from the bush and forced a substance into Adeniran’s mouth but the exact location of the attack has not been verified.

“We are doing everything possible to unravel the truth surrounding his death,” Ayanlade said, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
