NNPCL Warns Public of Scammers Posing as Company Officials

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a warning to the general public about individuals and companies falsely claiming to represent the organization.

A terse statement on Monday, by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the national oil company, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, said: “These scammers solicit fees for meetings with NNPC board of directors, executives, and management staff, which are unauthorized and illegal.

“We urge the public to be cautious and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities immediately,” said Soneye. “All legitimate engagements with NNPC Limited occur strictly through official channels or business units only.”

Soneye noted the company’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and protecting its stakeholders in all interactions.

Persecondnews reports that the company advised foreign investors and international business entities to remain particularly vigilant.

“If approached by individuals or companies claiming to represent NNPC Limited, the public is encouraged to report the incident to the appropriate authorities without delay.

“NNPC Limited urges everyone to work together to prevent scams and remain alert to potential threats. The company reiterates that it will never solicit fees for meetings or engagements through unofficial channels,” the statement said.
