The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, recently voiced his confidence in the Tinubu administration’s approach to tackling insecurity in Nigeria, especially its proposed overhaul of the Forest Guard system.

Following a private meeting with President Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Sunday, the monarch stressed that resolving security issues is vital for attracting investment and fostering economic growth.

Oba Ogunwusi commended President Tinubu’s dedication to economic reforms and strengthening grassroots security.

He said: “Once security is addressed, there will be a solid platform for investment to flow into Nigeria.”

The Ooni’s endorsement of the Forest Guard initiative highlights the crucial role of collaboration between traditional rulers and the government in promoting peace and stability.

Persecondnews reports that the Ooni’s support for the Forest Guard is seen as a significant move toward boosting investor confidence and driving economic development.

By addressing insecurity, the government can create an environment where businesses can flourish, leading to overall economic growth.

The Ooni also urged Nigerians to adopt a more optimistic outlook, emphasizing the need for collective action to overcome the nation’s challenges.

“It’s about time for all of us in Nigeria to come together and look at Nigeria as a cup half full, not half empty,” he said, adding by working together, Nigerians can build a brighter future for themselves and future generations.

The Ooni described President Tinubu as “a bold president committed to a better Nigeria.”
