Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, currently on suspension, met with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday.
Photos released by the State House showed the two in a private discussion at Tinubu’s residence.
Details of their meeting have not yet been disclosed.
This marks the second closed-door meeting between Fubara and Tinubu since the Governor’s suspension on March 18 amid political tensions in Rivers State.
Persecondnews reported that Tinubu had suspended Fubara, along with his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the State House of Assembly for six months.
This decision was accompanied by a nationwide broadcast declaring a state of emergency in Rivers, aimed at restoring stability following disagreements between the governor and state lawmakers loyal to his estranged political godfather and predecessor, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Subsequently, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas was appointed as the state’s administrator to oversee governance.
