FG Brings Relief to Workers As Payment of N35,000 Wage Award Arrears Begins Soon – AGF

In a bring relief to its workforce, the Federal Government says it will soon begin the payment of the N35,000 wage award arrears.

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) disclosed this on Monday.

According to a statement by Bawa Mokwa, the spokesman for the Office, the office had received receipt of funds for the settlement of the arrears.

He denied that the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Babatunde Ogunjimi, ever said the N35,000 wage award was excluded from the federal budget of N54.99 trillion for 2025.

“The office said the Accountant General of the Federation didn’t brief the press on the wage award and has assured that the outstanding arrears would be paid as promised by the government,” the statement said.

It said the disbursement would be done in installments of N35,000 for five months.
