Liverpool’s relentless pursuit of the Premier League title took a significant step forward as they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Ham at Anfield on Sunday.

The win leaves the Reds just two victories away from clinching the championship.

The match began with Liverpool asserting their dominance, with Mohamed Salah proving too quick for West Ham’s young defender Ollie Scarles.

Salah’s low cross found Luis Diaz, who tapped home at the far post to give Liverpool an 18th-minute lead.

However, the Reds’ composure began to unravel in the second half, with West Ham’s equalizer coming in the 84th minute.

Andy Robertson’s clumsy own goal levelled the score at 1-1, sending Anfield into a state of panic.

But Virgil van Dijk rose to the occasion, powering home a header from a corner in the 89th minute to restore Liverpool’s lead.

The goal not only secured the win but also silenced the doubts that had begun to creep in.

The victory marked Liverpool’s tenth consecutive win at home against West Ham, with the Reds scoring 30 goals and conceding just eight in the process.

As Liverpool closes in on the title, the team’s performance will be under scrutiny, but for now, the focus is on celebrating a crucial win that puts them within touching distance of their goal.
