Abuja robbery kingpins nabbed, stolen vehicles recovered – FCT Police

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended a notorious armed robbery group in the act at Royal Court Estate, Jahi II, Abuja.

This recent arrest showcases the police command’s commitment to tackling criminal activities in the territory.

The command said that operatives from the Mabushi Division responded swiftly to a distress call on March 27, 2025, at about 3:20 a.m., reporting an ongoing robbery.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a statement sent to Persecondnews on Sunday that upon arrival at the scene, the Police operatives were engaged in a gun duel by the hoodlums.

The statement reads: “However, the suspects were overpowered by the superior firepower of the Police and attempted to flee with gunshot injuries.

A hot pursuit ensued, leading to the arrest of two suspects—Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa, both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi.

“The following items were recovered from the suspects: Two locally made firearms, Three suspected stolen vehicles:Black Toyota Matrix (Reg. No. NBS 348 CP), Black Toyota Venza (Reg. No. ABJ 105 AV), Grey Lexus IS350 (Reg. No. RSH 295 CB).

“Also recovered are:Electronic devices including: Two MacBook Pro laptops, One Lenovo laptop, One iPad, One PS4 gaming console, One Canon IP1224 camera and One drone camera.

“The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

“The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, urges residents to take proactive security measures, particularly by installing tracking devices in their vehicles. This significantly enhances recovery efforts in the unfortunate event of theft or robbery.
