Wizkid, Reekado Banks reunite, squash 2020 beef with warm embrace

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Reekado Banks have officially buried the hatchet after their infamous 2020 fallout.

The duo reunited in a heartwarming moment as Wizkid paid a visit to Reekado’s club and lounge, where they exchanged pleasantries and shared a hug.

This public gesture signals the end of their long-standing feud, much to the excitement of fans and industry observers.

The reconciliation comes nearly four years after their disagreement, which was sparked by Reekado Banks’ attempt to promote a collaborative song, Omo Ologo, in the height of the #EndSARS protests.

Wizkid, who was deeply involved in the movement, lashed out at Reekado on social media, calling him a “fool” for trying to release music at such a sensitive time.

The altercation led to a visible strain in their relationship, with both artistes seemingly distancing themselves from each other in the years that followed.

Per Second News observed how, recent events indicated that all is now well between them.

Wizkid’s visit to Reekado’s club was a surprise to many, considering their history.

The two were seen engaging in friendly conversation before sealing their renewed friendship with a warm embrace.

The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions across social media.

Fans of both artists expressed their excitement over the reconciliation, with many praising them for letting go of past grievances.

Social media platforms buzzed with positive comments, as music lovers recalled the history between the two and how their fallout had divided opinions.

The sight of Wizkid and Reekado Banks together again has reignited hopes of future collaborations between the former labelmates.

Industry insiders believe this reunion could pave the way for renewed musical synergy between the two.

Before their fallout, Wizkid and Reekado Banks had maintained a cordial relationship, having both been signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records at different times.

Their previous collaborations had been well-received, and fans are now hopeful that a new joint project could be in the works.

The Nigerian music industry is no stranger to feuds and reconciliations, with many artists going through similar cycles of conflict and resolution.

Wizkid himself has had past disagreements with several colleagues, including Davido and Burna Boy, only to later mend fences.

This latest development with Reekado Banks is yet another example of how relationships in the industry evolve over time.

For Reekado Banks, the reunion is a positive moment in his career as he continues to expand his brand beyond music.
