Liverpool delivered a resounding 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, marking their second win against the reigning champions this season.

Mohamed Salah was the star of the show, scoring a record-breaking goal and providing an assist to propel the Reds to a commanding win.

Salah’s goal in the 14th minute, expertly slotted past Ederson, gave Liverpool a 1-0 lead.

The Egyptian King then turned provider, delivering a pinpoint pass to Dominik Szoboszlai, who coolly finished to double Liverpool’s advantage in the 37th minute.

This victory follows Liverpool’s earlier 2-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield in December, completing a league double over Pep Guardiola’s side for the first time since the 2019-20 season.

With this result, Liverpool now sit comfortably atop the Premier League table, extending their lead over second-placed Nottingham Forest to eight points and leaving City, who have faltered in recent weeks, even further adrift.

Salah’s contributions in this match were nothing short of historic, pushing his season totals to an astonishing 25 goals and 16 assists in the Premier League alone.

Salah became the first player in Premier League history to reach 30 goal involvements (goals plus assists) in fewer than 20 appearances, achieving the milestone in just 18 games this season.

His strike against City also marked his ninth game of the campaign with both a goal and an assist, surpassing his own record for the most such performances in a single season.
