Just in: Electoral Commission Boss Abducted

Prof. George Chima, the Chairman of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, has been abducted by some yet-to-be apprehended gunmen.
Chima was seized on Friday from his home in Okigwe in Imo State, while having a meeting with some lecturers of Abia State University, Uturu, Persecondnews reports.
Sources said the kidnappers numbering  four, drove the visitors away before abducting the professor from his private home located in Okigwe local government area which shares boundary with Uturu in Abia State.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for Imo State Police Command, DSP Henry Okoye said the state Police Commissioner has ordered a  crack down on the abductors with a view to rescuing the professor.
Okoye assured that operatives would do everything possible to apprehend the fleeing suspected kidnappers.
