Shocking: Nigerian monarch dies after collapsing at public event

A tragedy incident occurred in Kaduna State on Thursday when the Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, suddenly slumped and passed away during an event attended by the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Pate, a respected Council Member of the Emirate and Councillor in charge of Health Related Matters, was rushed to the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria, where he was confirmed dead, according to a report reaching Persecondnews.

The Zazzau Emirate Council has since announced Pate’s passing, describing his death as a significant loss.

The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, offered his condolences, acknowledging Pate’s hard work, dedication, and strong religious convictions.

Pate’s remains were laid to rest at Rimin Dodo on Thursday evening.

The Zazzau Emirate Council confirmed the incident in a statement issued by the Media and Publicity officer of the Zazzau, Abdullahi Kwarbai, on Thursday.

Expressing great sadness over the passing of Pate, he said: “It is with great sadness that the Zazzau Emirate Council announces the passing of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau Alhaji Rilwanu Yahaya Pate, a Council Member of the Emirate.”

Bamalli also condoled with the family of the deceased, describing his death as “the will of Allah.”

“Death is inevitable and can come whenever Allah destined.”

The remains of the late Sarkin Yakin Zazzau have been buried at Rimin Dodo on Thursday evening in accordance with Islamic rites.
