PR icon, Badejo-Okunsanya, appointed Chairman, NRMG Board

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed the immediate past President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya as Chairman, Board of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG).

Also appointed are Hajiya Lami Tumaka as 1st Vice Chairman and Dr. Alice Ajeh as 2nd Vice Chairman, according to a statement by Stanley Ogadigo, the
Director, Public Relations, given to Persecondnews.

The constitution of the board follows the successful unveiling of the NRMG in Abuja on 15th October, 2024, which is an initiative of the NIPR to find lasting solution to reputational issues affecting the growth and development of the country.

Speaking at the virtual inauguration of the Committee on Tuesday, the NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku said the nation’s reputation is a key priority for the Institute, noting that Nigeria needs reputation as an asset to trade at global market.

Approved by the Governing Council of NIPR in its 117th meeting, Chief Badejo-Okunsanya will lead a 17-member team of experts as follows:

Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace – Member, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu – Member, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha – Member, H. E. Amb. Tope Elias-Fatile – Member and Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun – Member

Others are: Alhaji Sadiq Kassim – Member, Mr. Franklyn Ginger-Eke – Member, Chief Tokunbo Modupe – Member, Chief Moji Makanjuola – Member, and Mr. Stanley Ogadigo – Member.

Also on the Board are representatives of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Lawal Oluwatosin Kafayat – Member, NIPR Young Professionals Hub, Mr. Nanfa Nandap – Member; and Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s nominee still awaited; while the CEO of the NRMG when appointed will serve as Secretary to the Board.

Amongst other responsibilities, the Board has been charged to work closely with the NIPR Council and other partners for the construction of the Nigeria Reputation House.
