The Federal Government has announced a significant boost in revenue generated from marriage contracts and expatriate quota applications to the tune of N5.6 billion.

According to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on Tuesday, the government earned about N2.4 billion from marriage contracts in 2024 through its marriage registry at the Ministry of Interior.

In addition, the ministry generated over N3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications, resulting in a remarkable 150% increase in overall revenue.

This substantial growth underscores the government’s efforts to diversify its revenue streams and optimize existing sources of income.

The increased revenue is expected to contribute to the government’s development initiatives and public services.
