Tinubu Performs Groundbreaking for Armed Forces HQ, Commits to Boosting Military Strength

President Bola Tinubu has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new Armed Forces headquarters complex in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s quest for enhanced security and military excellence.

The ceremony, which took place in the Federal Capital Territory on a sunny Thursday afternoon, was attended by top military brass, government officials, and other dignitaries.

In a stirring address, Tinubu paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces, saying: “We are gathered here today to honour the unbroken spirit of men and women who have served our nation with distinction.”

He commended the military for their tireless efforts in combating insurgency and ensuring the stability of the country, assuring them of his unwavering support.

The president reiterated his administration’s commitment to building and enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces, vowing to provide world-class equipment and comprehensive infrastructure to support their operations.

He noted that the new Armed Forces complex, when completed, would serve as a hub of excellence and a symbol of the nation’s appreciation for the sacrifices of its military personnel.

In a strong message to those who would seek to undermine the nation’s security, Tinubu warned: “I am ready to back you and support you, you have never lost any battle, and this war you will win and win again.”

Tinubu’s message comes at a critical time when the military is gaining momentum in its onslaught against notorious terrorist, Bello Turji.

The military recently announced the killing of Turji’s second-in-command, Aminu Kanawa, along with 24 other terrorists in operations conducted on Monday and Tuesday.

This development is a significant blow to Turji’s camp, which has been responsible for numerous kidnappings and terrorist attacks in the region.

The military spokesperson, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, confirmed that several of Turji’s key commanders were killed in the operations, including Abu Dan Shehu, Jabbi Dogo, and Dan Kane.

The military also inflicted injuries on some of Turji’s close allies, including his younger brother Dosso and Danbokolo, one of his closest allies.

Furthermore, troops neutralized over 24 fleeing terrorists from Turji’s camp in Sokoto and Zamfara states.

In another significant development, the military eliminated a notable terrorist, Suleiman, who was leading a reinforcement team to rescue Turji’s camp.

Suleiman was a loyalist of late notorious terrorist leader Halilu Sububu.

Tinubu’s message is seen as a commitment to supporting the military in its efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

The president’s statement comes as a boost to the morale of the troops, who have been working tirelessly to restore peace and security in the affected areas.

The Nigerian leader pledged to ensure the completion of the project within the lifespan of his administration, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the welfare and effectiveness of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
