Shallipopi has refused to let record label controversies hold him back as he charges forward with his music career.

The rapper, currently embroiled in a dispute with his former label, Dapper Music, over allegations of financial mismanagement and unfair contract practices, is focusing on his upcoming album slated for release in the coming months.

The artiste recently took to Snapchat to tease fans with a screenshot of a video call with American star Swae Lee, sparking rumors of a collaboration.

Alongside the post, Shallipopi declared, “album finna make you scared,” hinting that the project is already complete and gearing up for release.

The possibility of teaming up with Swae Lee, a prominent Afrobeats admirer, has only added to the anticipation.

The album will follow Shallipopi’s Shakespopi, a project that, despite featuring the hit single “ASAP,” drew criticism for its uninspired songwriting and delivery.

However, Shallipopi seems determined to prove his doubters wrong, with the upcoming project offering a chance to reassert his prowess as a hitmaker known for blending his Benin heritage with innovative Amapiano sounds.

Listeners have already been treated to two singles—“Free Service” and “Order,” featuring Olamide—that hint at the energy and creativity the new album will bring. Both tracks have been well-received, serving as a prelude to what many hope will be a career-defining project.

While Shallipopi’s split from Dapper Music has raised questions about the label under which his next album will be released, the rapper appears unfazed.

His decision to focus on his craft rather than be bogged down by industry disputes is resonating with fans, who admire his resolve.

Social media has been abuzz with speculation about his rumored collaboration with Swae Lee. Fans have expressed excitement, seeing it as a step toward international recognition for Shallipopi.

For many, this collaboration symbolizes a fresh start and a bold new direction for the artist.

The rapper’s journey has been marked by highs and lows, but his ability to keep moving forward reflects a deep commitment to his artistry.
