Update: Ekiti court grants Dele Farotimi N30m bail

Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun of an Ado Ekiti Magistrate’s Court has granted human rights activist Dele Farotimi bail in the sum of N30 million.

Under the bail conditions, Farotimi is to provide two sureties, one of whom must be a property owner.

He is also requested to surrender his passport to the court and barred from granting media interviews.

Persecondnews recalls that the police had filed a suit, accusing Farotimi of criminally defaming Chief Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, in his book titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System”.
