NSC DG Seeks Unified Federation to Unlock Nigeria’s eSports Potential, Drive Economic Growth

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to revolutionizing Nigeria’s eSports industry.

Director General Bukola Olopade recently convened a strategic meeting with key stakeholders in the eSports ecosystem, stating President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to position Nigeria as a major player in the multi-billion-dollar eSports industry.

During the virtual meeting, Olopade noted the importance of creating a united federation to drive the growth of eSports in Nigeria.

He noted that the Commission sees eSports as a critical driver for building a strong sports economy, as mandated by President Tinubu.

The NSC aims to integrate eSports into the National Sports Festival and ensure Nigeria’s participation in international eSports tournaments.

The meeting brought together prominent stakeholders in the Nigerian eSports community, including Yaya Maikori, Sidney Esiri (Dr. Sid), and Damilola Pedro, co-founder and head of partnership at Game Africa.
