Another power failure struck early Saturday for the third time in a week, plunging many states into darkness.

According to data from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (https://niggrid.org)), the national grid collapsed to zero megawatts as of 9:20 a.m. today.

Persecondnews recalls that the grid tripped off on Monday and on Tuesday when it was being restored.

Businesses and households continue to suffer over the nation’s unreliable electricity supply amid the high cost and unavailability of fuel.

At the time of reporting, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), responsible for managing the national grid, has yet to release a statement regarding the latest collapse.
