Super Eagles intensify preparations for Libya clash in Uyo

The Super Eagles camp in Uyo came alive on Tuesday as 20 players reported for duty ahead of Friday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Libya.

Seven players arrived in the morning, joining the initial nine, while 11 more players checked in later in the day.

Only Kelechi Iheanacho, Osayi-Samuel, and Chidera Ejuke are yet to report for duty.

The entire squad participated in the team’s first training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium’s practice pitch, which was open to the media and the public.

Interim Manager Austin Eguavoen stated the team’s focus on securing three points against Libya.

“We will not underestimate Libya, despite their position in the group. Our priority is winning on Friday, and we aim to get the job done quickly,” Eguavoen said.

Eguavoen’s strategy and team cohesion will be crucial in overcoming the Libyan challenge.
