President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) following a successful screening and confirmation by the Senate.

The Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa hosted the ceremony on Monday.

Persecondnews reports that Justice Kekere-Ekun, from Lagos State, is the 23rd CJN and the second woman to hold the position in the nation’s history.

She took over the reins in August, serving in an acting capacity, following the retirement of her predecessor, Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
